The benefit showing of “The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert” towered above other events of the FCN social calendar, with the beehive wigs and head-dresses to prove it!  The marquee, the limelight, the ushers, the gilt molding of the lobby, and ping-pong balls galore, all combined to create a unique and fabulous “fun-raiser” and fundraiser for our organization.

Plans are already being set in motion to make this glittering movie night event an annual soiree not to be missed!  Maybe a “Sound of Music” or “Grease” sing-along?  Imagine the campy fun of nun costumes or lederhosen everywhere, or the greased-back pompadours, bobby socks and poodle skirts a-flying!

Thanks go out to the Lucas Theatre, Club One, all of our volunteers, and of course all of Savannah’s own contingent of ladies on stage, Tricksie Turner, Gia Hall, Motion, Chi Chi Bonet Sherrington, and of course Miss Gay America 2015 and Savannah’s own, Blair Williams.  What a night of stars and sequins!

Beyond the fun, the benefit raised much-needed funds for FCN, and a chance to debut our LGBT Community Center brochure.  Look for the text of the brochure in a future issue of the News soon, or better yet, grab a handful of them and share them with all of your friends. We need your help in spreading the word about the need for our community center.

This event proves that we can always benefit not only from fun- or fundraising, but “friendraising” as well.
