About FCN

First City Network is Savannah’s longest-running LGBTQ+ social and community network — and one of the oldest in Georgia. Since 1985, FCN has helped connect people across generations, backgrounds, and identities through friendship, shared experiences, community events, and a simple idea: nobody should have to feel alone here.

What began decades ago in living rooms and informal gatherings has grown into a vibrant, evolving community organization that continues to bring people together throughout the Savannah area. Some of our members have been part of FCN for decades. Others just moved to town last week. Many show up not knowing anyone at all. That’s kind of the point.

FCN exists to create welcoming spaces where LGBTQ+ people and allies can meet, relax, build friendships, and feel part of something larger than themselves. We believe community is built through real interaction: conversations over dinner, bowling leagues, meet-and-greets, local events, volunteer efforts, and the countless small connections that make a city feel like home.

We’re proud of our history, but we’re equally focused on what’s next. FCN continues to evolve alongside Savannah’s LGBTQ+ community, supporting collaboration with other organizations while remaining rooted in what we’ve always done best: helping people connect.

FCN welcomes individuals, couples, longtime locals, and newcomers alike. Our community spans generations, identities, and experiences, and we think that variety is one of our greatest strengths.

We also maintain and celebrate an important part of Savannah LGBTQ+ history through the archives of Network News, documenting decades of community life, advocacy, milestones, challenges, and joy. Our past matters — not because we want to live in it, but because it reminds us how much connection and visibility can matter.
